[wiki](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shumai) >"Maybe one of the most beautiful and technically difficult dumplings to make, shumai are not all looks — they taste delicious. [source](https://www.tastingtable.com/1197662/types-of-dumplings-explained/)" Strangely I found these much easier and quicker to make than Gyoza. They need [sauce](/cooking/notes/dumpling-dip). ## What - Ground pork (I sometimes buy the mixed Beef and Pork, as it is easier to find here in DE) - Shiitake Mushrooms - Shrimp - Soy Sause - Oyster Sause - Sesame oil - Corn Starch - Shaoxing Wine - Wonton wrappers (These come frozen from Asian grocery store) - MSG ## How Mix pork with everything except the mushrooms and shrimp. Hack the mushrooms and shrimp and mix them in. Take Wonton wrappers and using a C shape with your thumb and index finger create the dumplings. Then steam for ~10-13 min, depending on how large you made the dumplings. ## Pics ## Sources - [hermanathome on TikTok](https://vm.tiktok.com/ZGeKKQ4xh/) - https://www.recipetineats.com/siu-mai-shumai-steamed-dumplings/ Tags Save Loading...
