Since posting this I found tooot, https://apps.apple.com/app/id1549772269. Not bad posting experience.

Maybe I’ll keep both socials as a way to diversify.

Trying out Bluesky, profile: https://bsky.app/profile/travisshears.bsky.social. Mostly because hosting my own Pleroma is kinda a pain, there are no good iOS apps for posting, and https://podcasts.apple.com/de/podcast/decoder-with-nilay-patel/id1011668648?i=1000650348585 podcast was convincing.

Really want to try this tree net building technique in an interior design way, to build a net under a coffee table for extra storage.

Lot of search use cases can be filled by Postgres without jumping to something more complex like OpenSearch or AWS CloudSearch

Currently building search over the entire Joyn asset catalog for an internal tool.

Started an app to store by bluesky and pleroma posts.

The bluesky API is nice to work with.

This is the kind of personal project I find inspiring. It’s a super minimal text based sports scores website.

Don’t really have a use case, but I really want to try DuckDB. Also exporting Parquet files instead of CSVs or JSON.

Graved Lachs

300g Lachs to 15g salt
Pinch sugar

Super simple and delicious way to prepare salmon. Very thankful to the friend who introduced me to the recipe.

Many frameworks are going typescript as default option. I find after setting up a few projects and using VSCode it get better. Haven’t worked professionally in pure JavaScript in years.

I find Deno ecosystem to underdeveloped to be usable. Just tried to use denoflare, npm modules didn’t work.

Reading over the BlueSky Docs, docs.bsky.app/docs/get-sta..., I didn't find a way to stream my posts or get automatic updates like a webhook. There is the firehose, but that is way too many updates.

I'll start with a cron service that hits the getAuthorFeed.
