Flammkuchen mit Birne und Gorgonzola

Simple weekday lunch.

Flammkuchen, wiki, apparently has no english translation. In French: tarte flambée. It comes Alsace (part of France along the German border with great vineyards).

What

  • Store bought Flammkuchen base
  • Creme fraiche, 200g
  • Honey
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Red onion, 1 big one or a few smaller ones
  • Walnuts
  • Gorgonzola cheese
  • Pear

How

  • Preheat oven to 220C
  • Unroll the base
  • Mix salt, pepper, creme fraiche, and honey together
  • Spread the mix on the base
  • Cut onions into thin moons and sprinkle across base
  • Cut pares into thinish wedges and sprinkle across base
  • Crumble / cut cheese into small pieces and sprinkle across base
  • Hand crush walnuts and spread across base
  • Bake at 220 for ~13min.
