Gnocchi
Easy make at home pasta.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup mashed potatoes, no peel
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
Instructions:
- Prepare mashed potatoes
- Combine the ingredients, then knead into a patty
- Wrap patty in plastic wrap and let rest for 20min
- Cut patty into four chunks
- Roll out each chunk into a long roll and cut into pieces
- Brush each piece against a fork to add texture for sauce to stick to
- Boil until floating
Frying
You can also fry the Gnocchi after boiling. I noticed a lot of restaurants do this and it really transforms the texture.
As to if one should first boil then fry my research points to yes.
