Got a cookbook 📕 for Christmas! This one I’ve been interested in for a while. It follows the 1960s The French Chef public access TV series by Julia Child.

Fighting cyano. Also adjusted lighting schedule, lighting intensity, and started feeding less. Hopefully the problem will slowly fade in the first months of 2023.

Hilarious Czech game where you have to make bunny ears and moose antlers under pressure.
Ušáci a paroháči.
Lucky to have Czech speaking friends to run the game.

I caught a fish!
As in after a day of waiting I was finally able to lure him into fish trap and remove him from main tank. Setting up a quarantine tank for this clown fish with an inflamed eye.

Finished my first book in a while, The Magic of Recluce. A fun fantasy novel centered around the struggle between order and chaos. It follows a young order order master / wizard coming of age and into his powers.
After starting the second book, The Towers of the Sunset, I’m starting to see the formula. A coming of age story to drive the plot that continues to explains on the world, the magic, and the history. Quite effective and entertaining.
There are twenty two books in the series. Let’s see how far I can go.

Camel up Boardgame Review:
It’s the final round. Your prized camel 🐫 has nearly made it to the finish line. All the bets are about to payoff! Then from behind a competitor closes the gap. Oh know now he’s on top of your camel! Literally riding yours across the finish line 🏁 stealing the first place.
So goes the fun mix of gambling, stacking camels on top of each other, and shaking the pyramid dice box game that is Camel up. Good fun definitely adding it to the wishlist.

Cafe board game review:
The second game we tested at Spielweisen.
As you can see by her website, https://mariashears.com/coffee/, my wife is extremely deep into coffee. Naturally we picked out this game to try because of the attractive theme. Opening it up and getting started we saw it not just a coat of paint.
Game mechanics reflect coffee production. You start by growing beans, then drying them, roasting them, and ending by shipping to a warehouse or cafe. This is accomplished by stacking cards, partially covering other cards. Building out a production chain / card stack which grants you a number of actions. Moving the small wooden cubes between roasty and cafe for example. All this seem great on paper. As did the helper women at the convention who helped explain the rules. The trouble comes with scoring.
Besides some simple victory points for getting the requested bean combinations to cafes you score beans in the warehouse. Something along the lines of, you score for beans in the two colors of which you control the least, 🤷♂️. We didn't find it very intuitive.
Despite the great theme ☕️ this one didn't make our Wishlist ❌.
