Great talk on functional programming + Clojure from Javascript perspective, where all code examples are in Javascript.
jQuery -> React was a shift toward more functional programming.

Babashka + Gum is exactly my preference for shell scripting on my personal projects.
Nice blog post: rattlin.blog/bbgum.html

Wes Anderson’s Phoenician Scheme is my favorite work of his yet! Made it to the theater with my partner to see it, a rare event as parents of a 1.5 year old. Only downer on the evening was no popcorn 🍿 at the theater?! Thought that was half the point of going to the movie theater.

Wrote some Babashka to space out my crons.

Never seen a suite of cli tools with such cool graphics! Makes me want to try them just from the aesthetic.

I was in a Lisp mood and thanks to my new on-prem Nomad cluster spinning up Docker containers is super easy.
Tried Racket lang for the first time, avoiding the headache of Java errors from Clojure. Was pretty fun. Actually got it to do something useful. Didn't get a chance to to try the language oriented programming features though.

Wouldn't it be better if the "@hourly" cron picked a random time during the hour, as to not run everything at :01 past the hour?

typedoc is a cool project for turning your Typescript types into a documentation website.
made a repo to show how to set it up with gitlab pages: https://git.sr.ht/~travisshears/typedoc-demo

Container orchestration in the homelab context?
Docker compose doesn’t handle cluster of nodes.
Docker swarm no UI.
Kubernetes over kill and hard to maintain.
I went with nomad. It’s not without gochas, but so far works well.

Once upon a time I did some diy etching. After many tests to get the correct exposure, chemical procedure, and drill bit I made one glorious circuit board. Unfortunately was mirrored incorrectly and didn’t work.
Since then the kit has been gathering dust and my light sensitive copper plates have expired.
Someday I’d love to try again. If you are in Brussels go for it.
Also try wire wrap.

“Swing swing” followed by gleeful laughter comes from the hammock. It stretches between two trees at the base of a quarry rock wall. My daughter and I play.
“On belay”, “belays on”, “climbing”, “climb on” a friend and I repeat the mantra as I head up the wall.
