Looking to reduce my server costs; right now I have a bunch of fly.io machines running, a VPC instance, and bunch of AWS stuff. Looking at self hosting on a raspberry pi. Was just going to do a simple docker compose with nginx over it and Let’s Encrypt, but dokku looks intriguing:

Not sure if AWS always had this feature, but I've been loving the bookmarks bar.

Wrote my first UXN program. It prints the lyrics to 99 bottles of beer on the wall.

Here is the source code for the fetcher AWS Lambda functions I use to poll for nostr posts and save them to PocketBase.

https://git.sr.ht/~travisshears/micro_blog_repo_fetchers\

Also supports Mastodon, Pixelfed, and BlueSky. Why pick when you can use them all.

SQLite with a nice API / Client library and UI? What’s not to like! PocketBase is perfect for side projects.

Earthstar is a super cool web db / protocol. I really want to build something with it. I tried to figure out the new v11, built on Willow, version but got a bit lost.

I’ll check back in once it comes out of beta.

Remaking my personal website. Moving from Hugo to Astro to support a more dynamic server side rendered site.

First big dynamic feature is the Micro Blog section which loads posts from here, Blue Sky, Pixelfed, my old Pleroma posts, and in the future Nostr (still figuring out how to sync those posts).

I love Git. Whenever my fellow devs need help with a complicated rebase or getting back some changes they lost, I’m there. What exactly is going on inside the ./.git dir, is something that escaped me over the years. Now, thanks to this amazing blog post, I know.

Love jq but found combining it with less for quickly exploring JSON clumsy. jless to the rescue!
